Haemodiafiltration (HDF) Therapy

A haemodiafiltration is a form of renal replacement therapy that is used as a blood purification method. It works by utilising a convective-type driving force in combination with a diffusional type, which is used in standard haemodialysis.

Sustained Low-Efficiency Daily Dialysis (SLEDD) Therapy

SLEDD is an increasingly popular renal replacement therapy for the treatment of acute kidney illness. It is primarily used for intensive care unit (ICU) patients. It benefits the patient by providing good solute control and haemodynamic stability.
SLEDD has evolved as a conceptual and technical hybrid of Intermittent Haemodialysis (IHD) and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT). It holds a therapeutic aim that combines the desirable properties of each of these component modalities.

Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)

CRRT is a slow and continuous extracorporeal blood purification therapy that is commonly used to treat critically ill patients with acute kidney injury. It is a dialysis treatment that provides renal support to patients who are haemodynamically unstable as a continuous 24-hour per day therapy.

CRRT helps by mimicking the functions of the kidneys. It purifies the blood by regulating water, electrolytes, and toxic products through the continuous slow removal of solutes and fluid. It is usually indicated to patients who meet the criteria for Haemodialysis therapy but cannot tolerate conventional intermittent haemodialysis (IHD) due to hemodynamic instability.

Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD)

CAPD, often called home dialysis, is used when your kidneys can't adequately do their job. It purifies the blood by removing the waste products from your blood.
In the CAPD process, the patient empties a fresh bag of dialysis solution into the abdomen and then after 4 to 6 hours dwells the solution containing waste into the bag. The process does not require the use of any machinery but rather uses gravity to fill and empty the abdomen. The patient can repeat the cycle with a fresh bag of solution using an APD cycler.

Uroflowmetry is a simple, non-invasive diagnostic screening procedure used to measure the volume of urine released from the body. It tracks the flow of urine, the quantity of urine flowing out, and how long it takes to empty the bladder. The information is interpreted by a doctor to evaluate the functioning of the lower urinary tract.

Doppler

A Doppler ultrasound is a noninvasive test used to measure the flow of blood through your blood vessels. It involves the use of bouncing high-frequency sound waves (ultrasound) over the circulating red blood cells to diagnose many conditions like:

Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy

This technique of minimally invasive surgery is used for the disintegration of stones using a machine called a lithotripter. With the help of the machine, shock waves are generated which pass through the body in such a manner that their maximum energy is dispersed at the locale of the stone, thereby leading to stone disintegration. The procedure is most suitable for small stones.

Holmium Laser Lithotripsy

Holmium laser lithotripsy is used to remove the stones in the urinary tract with the help of lasers. It is an alternative procedure for another type of lithotripsy called extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL). Holmium laser lithotripsy is very effective in removing stones irrespective of the matter, the size, location, and/or hardness of stone.

Plasmapheresis

It is a medical procedure designed to remove some plasma from the blood for a process of plasma exchange (where unhealthy plasma is swapped with healthy plasma). The need for plasmapheresis arises to treat some kidney conditions such as Goodpasture syndrome, a disease that causes antibodies to attack the kidneys and lungs.
